The Salinas River Valley is located in Southern California. It is 155 miles long and runs between the Gabalin Range and the San Lucia Range.

Many farmers live and work here because of the great soil from the river. Many people in this area are also ranchers or harvesters because of the thriving agriculture. The Salinas River Valley is known as "The Salad Bowl of America" because over 80% of the lettuce in America is grown there. In 2008, leaf lettuce in the valley produced over 600 million dollars in crops.
